Planned Maintenance

Movable walls are an investment in maximizing available space and effectively limiting sound transfer between those spaces. When operable partitions do not function properly your business is disrupted.

 

Regular planned maintenance helps ensure your operable partitions perform at optimum level when you need them, eliminating costly last-minute or after hours repairs that interrupt the flow of your business.

 

We can recommend service frequency based on your use of the product and schedule service when it works for you—away from busy seasons.

Inspection and Service

The most common reason for major repairs on operable partitions is failure to schedule regular service. Moving parts require regular maintenance. High-end manufacturers design and manufacture their carrier systems, (the track and trollies that support your operable partitions) to last for decades. When these systems are not cleaned and lubricated regularly,

  • Panels become difficult to move, making set-up and take-down difficult for staff.

 

  • Trolleys eventually wear away the surface of the track, weakening it and eventually causing panels to sag.

Refurbishment

The benefits of commercial remodeling are priceless based on positive effect of a pleasant workspace for employees, customers and the general public and it is a major event for your business.


Movable walls that are currently covered with vinyl, fabric or carpet can be stripped and re-covered to match your new decor. Often this task is included in the contractor’s package or wall covering subcontractor. However, operable partitions, both manually operated and electric, require special consideration when refurbishing. We can work with your subcontractor to make sure the critical trim pieces are removed prior to re-cover and re-installed after, to make certain no loose or frayed edges remain, also ensuring the mechanical integrity of your operable partitions.

Refresher Training

We offer hands-on interactive training in to equip your staff to operate your movable walls confidently, in a manner that is both safe and protects your investment.

Our Priorities

Safety

At SMI, safety is our priority. On new construction job sites, aftermarket service, or driving the highways, we are conscious of our work environment. Our lead technicians are OSHA-30 qualified and all technicians have OSHA-10. We are COATS certified (formerly MICCS), and undergo regular equipment training on aerial work platforms, scissor lifts, lulls, and booms. We continually discuss safety issues specific to current job environments.
